How can testicular hydrocele be treated naturally?

Testicular hydrocele is characterized by a clearly delineated fluid effusion in the bursa. The hydrocoele can develop already in the embryonic stage (= congenital hydrocoele) or later (= aquired hydrocoele). Men are at increased risk from the age of 45 onwards. Normally, the testicles descend from the abdominal cavity into the bursa at the time of birth. The result is a small canal that normally closes before or after birth. If this canal persists, fluid can build up in the testicle, which can cause it to swell. The congenital hydrocele is usually bilateral and resolves spontaneously during the first few months of life. If the canal still does not close or does not close completely, an inguinal hernia may form indirectly.

Also know how to recognize the signs and symptoms of testicular hydrocele.
The first indication of hydrocele is a painless swelling or enlargement of the scrotum caused by a build-up of fluid around one or both testes. Babies rarely develop complications from hydrocele and the vast majority disappear before the baby's years without treatment. On the contrary, men who suffer from hydrocele may experience some discomfort as the scrotum swells and becomes heavier. This leads to problems sitting, walking or running in some extreme cases.

The pain or discomfort caused by hydrocele is usually related to the size of the scrotum, the bigger it is, the more painful it can be.
Hydroceles tend to be smaller in the morning (when you wake up) and get bigger as the day progresses.
Premature babies have a higher risk of hydrocele.

Some natural ways to treat this bursa swelling include

  1. Coat the affected organ with a paste obtained by kneading a certain quantity of crushed sorrel with fat.
  2. Boil together the roots and leaves of Lannea velutina. Use the decoction to wash the loose testicles.
  3. Drink from time to time a decoction of Balanites aegyptiaca roots to reduce the size of the affected limb but not to heal it.

4. Introduce a good handful of lightly scraped and then finely crushed roots of Acacia arabica into boiling water. Leave to cool overnight. The next day, being on an empty stomach, drink a fairly large quantity, a portion of the said liquid. Then coat the genitals with a paste composed of water and the crushed dried fruit of the tree in question. Three days of treatment.

5. Try an Epsom salt bath.

If you notice swelling that does not cause pain in the testicles or scrotum, take a very hot bath with at least one cup of Epsom salt. Relax in the bath for at least 15 to 20 minutes with your legs slightly apart so that the water can bathe the scrotum. The warmth of the water can stimulate the movement of body fluids and help to resolve the blockage, while the salt helps to pull fluid through the skin and reduce swelling. Epsom salt is also rich in magnesium which helps you relax muscles and tendons and relieve sensitivity.

If your hydrocele is causing pain, you could make the inflammation and symptoms worse if you expose your scrotum to hot water (or any heat source).
Don't bathe too hot to avoid scalding, and don't stay in the tub too long to avoid dehydration.

6. Keep yourself well hydrated with lemon water for testicular hydrocele.

Hydration is a fundamental part of the treatment of these problems related to water retention because, although it may seem paradoxical, not only dehydration but also inadequate fluid intake does not always allow the body to have enough to carry out the appropriate processes, hydration and lubrication, as well as cleansing in the different areas of the body. As mentioned above, inflammatory processes can be involved in hydrocoele, which can be caused by infections that reach the scrotum (especially if the penis and testicles are kept clean or if a sexually transmitted infection is spread). Here, the body can respond immunologically correctly, but will still need adequate hydration to complete the process. For hydration to be effective and therapeutic, consider the following:

  • Drinking water, replacing or eliminating juices and soft drinks as much as possible.
  • Waiting for thirst: This tells the body that it is ready to use water effectively.
  • Drink whole glasses: not 8 glasses a day, but whole glasses instead of sipping.
  • It is best to drink as much water as possible outside of meals: the insulin released with food activates the water retention functions, preventing the water you drink from being used properly. Lemon water is an option with additional antioxidant and antibiotic power to combat this problem, preferably taken on an empty stomach a little before breakfast and without adding sugar.

7.  Yoga postures and exercise against testicular hydrocele.

The following yogic postures practiced - with supervision if you are a beginner - for a few minutes a day, on a consistent basis, will help reduce and eliminate testicular hydrocele.

  • Shoulderstand or "veil": This involves taking your hips with your hands and extending your legs vertically upwards with your feet pointed. The buttocks contract and the body is positioned as straight as possible. There should be no tension in the neck. This inverted posture helps to retain fluid against the legs and in the testicles.
  • Eagle posture: one leg is crossed in front of the other and the palms of the hands are together at face level, but the arms are intertwined. This posture requires balance but adjusts the testicles, addressing problems such as testicular hydrocele.
  • Cow's head posture: the legs are crossed at maximum, so that the feet are on the outside of the hips, with the soles facing backwards. Bring your right arm behind your back and hold your index finger with your left hand. This posture adjusts the spermatic cords, corrects the posture and allows you to better control your ejaculation.

 8. Eating healthy against testicular hydrocele

Good nutrition allows the body to repair these problems more easily and effectively.

Against testicular hydrocele, it is important to meet the consumption needs of omega 3 and omega 6 fatty acids. Omega-3s must be larger than omega-6s so that the body's anti-inflammatory functions can be present and resolve testicular hydrocele, among other chronic diseases.

The main sources of EPA and DHA Omega 3 are :

  • Fish and seafood
  • Seafood and seafood
  • Organic egg yolk
  • Algae, These foods should be eaten with the least aggressive cooking methods possible (avoid frying) and also change the common flours for fruits such as melon, watermelon and pineapple, thus reducing the amount of Omega 6 and providing hydration to the body as an additional benefit.

Tips for fighting testicular hydrocele

Some simple tips will help relieve your testicular hydrocele. They are :

  • Avoid alcohol, cigarettes, coffee. Alcohol and smoking are considered primary factors for such diseases and it is important for your recovery to give up these habits permanently.
  • When playing contact sports, always wear crotch protection to protect your scrotum from possible injury.
  • We strongly recommend that you eat juicy seasonal fruits such as melons, oranges, lemons, apples, pears, grapes and grapefruit. In addition, you should drink plenty of water or sugar-free lemonade.
  • If your hydrocele causes pain, avoid exposing your scrotum to hot water or any other heat source. You may make the inflammation and symptoms worse.

Causes of Hydrocele

Most of the causes of hydrocele are unknown. In babies, this condition can form before birth. Hydrocoele can also be a sign of an open space between the stomach and scrotum. In the uterus, the baby's testicles in the abdomen descend into the scrotum through the space between the abdominal cavity and the scrotum. Both testicles are wrapped in a fluid-filled sac. Normally, the space between the stomach and the scrotum will close before the baby is born or immediately after birth. Then the liquid in the pouch will be absorbed by the body itself. However, the liquid may still remain after the gap closes, it is a non-communicating hydrocele. This liquid will usually be absorbed slowly during the first year after the baby is born. It is also possible that the space does not close and fluid continues to flow out of the abdominal cavity or that there is reflux into the abdominal cavity when the scrotum is full. This condition is called communicating hydrocele and may be accompanied by inguinal hernias.

In adults, hydrocele can occur as a result of an infection of the scrotum. Filariasis or elephantiasis, a parasitic infection caused by the Wuchereria bancrofti worm, is the most common cause of hydrocoele in adults worldwide.

Diagnosis of hydrocoele

To diagnose hydrocele, the doctor will first make a complaint and examine the physical condition of the scrotum: Checking the sensitivity of the swollen scrotum. Illuminating the scrotum with a flashlight until the light penetrates inwards (transillumination). If there is a hydrocele, the flashlight will indicate the presence of fluid around the testicles. Press the stomach and scrotum to test for symptoms of inguinal hernia. If the doctor suspects that the swelling of the scrotum is the result of an infection, a urine or blood test will be done to confirm this. Meanwhile, if the doctor suspects a hernia or testicular tumour as the cause of scrotal swelling, an ultrasound will be done.

Hydrocele Medical Treatment

In babies, hydrocele usually disappears on its own until the age of two. If the hydrocele still exists after this age or even causes pain, surgery is required to remove it. The operation to remove a hydrocele is called a hydrocelectomy.

In adults, the hydrocele also disappears on its own within six months. Medical treatment will only be carried out if the hydrocele causes pain or discomfort. In addition, hydrocele removal is only performed if the hydrocele is large enough to cause discomfort and pressure on other parts of the body.

Some of the risks that may be encountered by patients with hydrocele who undergo hydrocelectomy surgery are:

  • Infection
  • Heart rhythm disturbances.
  • Bleeding.
  • Blood clots.
  • Allergic reaction.
  • Scrotal nerve damage.
  • Difficulty breathing.

After a hydrocelectomy, the doctor will usually advise patients to use a scrotal support and compress the scrotum with ice cubes to reduce swelling.

Hydrocele complications

Male fertility will not be affected by the presence of hydrocele. However, the problem is that some serious diseases can be characterized by the appearance of hydrocele. One of these is inguinal hernia, which is trapped in the intestine of the abdominal wall and can lead to fatal complications. In addition, hydrocele can also be an early sign of an infection or tumour.

Hydrocoele prevention

One of the causes of hydrocele is filariasis. The best way to avoid filariasis is to avoid the bites of mosquitoes that carry the worm, for example by using mosquito nets.
